I make timeless portraits of Midshipmen on "the yard" at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. I coordinate closely with Midshipmen to accommodate their busy schedules and I make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. We have fun! I know all the best locations on the yard and even what time of day various architecture looks best in portraits. As a bonus, I also specialize in sunrise and sunset portraiture! Perfect for capturing the essence of how it feels to be by the water so you can remember your time in beautiful Annapolis. The Midshipmen always tell me how fun and easy I make their sessions, while the parents say the hard part is choosing their favorite photos to print!
My goal is to create artful, dramatically lit portraiture that will be hanging on a wall in 20 + years for loved ones to recall fondly and future generations to be inspired by.

Q: HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION TAKE?
A: Midshipmen photography sessions are typically one hour. However, if we are capturing multiple uniforms, you may add 30 minutes to your session for an additional fee.
Q: WHERE SHOULD WE MEET THE DAY OF OUR SESSION?
A: If you are scheduled for a morning photography session at the U.S. Naval Academy, meet me at the Triton Light. If you are scheduled in the afternoon, we will meet by Mahan Hall in the little parking lot. This information will also be in your proposal paperwork. I will be texting you in the days and hours leading up to our session to inform you of any changes.
Q: HOW CAN I PAY?
A: Once you book, you will get a photography proposal which will include session details, contracts, and an invoice you can pay online. I do not take any other forms of payment.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANCEL?
A: I know things happen! If there is a scheduling issue, I am happy to work with you to find a better time. That said, you may cancel your session and forfeit your 20% retainer fee up to 24 hours prior.
Q: WHAT IF IT RAINS?
A: If rain is in the forecast, I will be contacting you to make a scheduling decision together. A little drizzle is not a problem and can make wonderful photos! However, photography equipment can’t handle much more than that.
Q: WHICH UNIFORM SHOULD I WEAR?
A: Whichever you prefer! We’re going to get beautiful photos you love regardless! However, if you need more input or possibly more options, read my blog post here.
Q: HOW LONG UNTIL I GET MY PHOTOS?
A: I aim to deliver your full gallery for Midshipmen portrait sessions in one to two weeks. Mini session are delivered within a week.
Q: WILL I RECEIVE PRINTS?
A: You will receive an online, password-protected gallery. You are free to order prints from my shop directly from your gallery. However, you may also download your photos and print them wherever you’d like!
