Recently I had the absolute delight of creating Senior Portraits for a special and beautiful Broadneck High School Senior in Annapolis, Maryland. We visited several locations in downtown Annapolis and in Cape St. Claire. We also changed clothes multiple times, and boy was it beautiful AND a blast! This turned out to be one of my all time favorite sessions and I can’t wait for more high school senior photography sessions!
Annapolis, with its rich history and stunning views, provided the perfect backdrop for a fun and memorable photo shoot. We embarked on an adventure across three iconic locations, each offering its unique vibe and scenery that perfectly complemented our senior’s journey.
Our day kicked off in the heart of Annapolis, Downtown. This area is a photographer’s dream with its eclectic mix of historic charm and vibrant street life. We strolled around the majestic state building, soaking in the grandeur and elegance that it exudes. The architectural beauty provided a dignified backdrop, adding a touch of sophistication to our portraits. As we meandered down Main Street, we were greeted by the lively buzz of the city – the quaint shops, the bustling cafes, and the friendly faces all around us. It was the perfect blend of urban chic and timeless elegance, capturing the spirit of our senior’s milestone year. We made sure to make use of all the color in the adorable little alley ways!
Of course, no senior portrait session would be complete without the iconic cap and gown. Dressed in the traditional regalia, our senior stood proud and ready to take on the world. It was a symbol of achievement, hard work, and the promise of new beginnings. The cap and gown added a formal touch to our collection, creating a timeless reminder of this significant milestone. We also took advantage of our rooftop parking spot in Downtown Annapolis and took photos in her Carolina T-Shirt! She’s off to USC!
Next up, we switched gears and outfits. It was time to let our hair down and embrace the laid-back, carefree side of senior year. For this, we found the perfect spot near Cape St. Clair at a local beach, just in time for sunset. The golden hour light was pure magic, casting a warm, golden glow over everything. The beach was serene and beautiful, with the gentle waves lapping at the shore and the sun setting in a blaze of colors on the horizon. It was a moment of pure joy and tranquility, reflecting the bittersweet end of an era and the excitement of the journey ahead.
It was extra sweet as this Broadneck School Senior had done a little bit of sailing lessons from here when she was little and her family spent quite a bit of time here! So, we headed to the docks to showcase her cute dress and include her softball and track and field equipment so she can fondly remember all she was involved with!
Throughout the session, we laughed, we explored, and we created memories that will last a lifetime. Each outfit change brought out a different aspect of our senior’s personality, from sophisticated and elegant to relaxed and carefree. And through it all, Annapolis and Cape St. Calire provided the perfect canvas for our story.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, and we packed up our gear, I knew for certain this would be one of my favorite sessions of all time and I wasn’t wrong. This wasn’t just a photo shoot; it was a celebration of achievements, and an amazing time getting to know this special girl and her momma.
To all the seniors out there, your senior year is a time to shine, to reflect on your journey, and to look forward to the future with hope and excitement. And what better way to capture this momentous time than with a senior portrait session that tells your unique story?
Here’s to the Class of 2023 – May your future be as bright and promising as the sunset over that beautiful Cape St. Claire beach.
